Guidelines
Below are the general guidelines we expect families to adhere to as part of their participation with Revolutionary Learning.
Tuition &
Other Fees
Payments are due on the first day of class. Please view our FAQ for a current breakdown of tuition fees. We accept debit, credit, and cash. Payment arrangements may be made at our discretion.
Refund Policy
No refunds will be given for student absences, inclement weather, and unforeseen circumstances such as teacher illnesses. During third quarter when snow is likely, we will reschedule up to two days per location.
Weather Policy
We will cancel classes at our discretion based on the teachers’ abilities to drive to Augusta or Nelson counties, making every effort for class to go on. Please use your own judgement when deciding to come to class during poor weather conditions. We cannot be responsible for hazardous roads. Notice of cancellations will be sent out via text message as early as possible.
Illness
Participants should not attend activities if they are sick or are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

Colored mucus

Diarrhea, vomiting, or nausea (within last 24 hours)

Eye drainage
-
Virus or infection (known to be contagious)

Rashes (contagious)
-
Head lice
-
Fever (within last 24 hours - unmedicated)

Illness in the home of the host family may result in a location change for the day.
Acceptable Behavior
In order to ensure that Revolutionary Learning has a social atmosphere that supports learning and community, we expect all members of our community:

To be courteous

To be respectful of all facilitators, participants, and visitors

To consider the safety of others’ emotional and physical well-being No physical contact with the intent to harm

To take care of their own property and that of others

To show good will by responding to requests and directions from facilitators promptly and willingly

To be tolerant of the differences of others

To use polite and professional language within the learning space.

To be free of alcohol, tobacco products, illegal drugs and weapons while participating in our activities

Older children must be aware of the example they are setting for the younger children
Dress Code
Dress appropriately for activities. We will spend time outside every class day. Please dress appropriately for the weather, as well as for physical activity and getting dirty. In addition, please be mindful of the following guidelines:

No undergarments (bras, underwear, boxers) should be visible from standing/sitting/squatting/bending over

No clothing with drug/alcohol, profanity, depictions of violence/sex or that is discriminatory of any faith, race, lifestyle or political views
Safety Protocols
Facilitators will routinely review emergency procedures, such as basic first aid and fire safety, with all participants. Posted house rules will be adhered to at each location.
Compulsory Attendence
Participation in Revolutionary Learning is not a substitute for Compulsory Education or the requirements of the Virginia Home Instruction Statute – §22.1-254.1. Families are required to submit a Notice of Intent to their designated school district by August 1st and must provide Proof of Progress by August 15th of each school year. We are a provider of supplemental education and social learning to help fill in the gaps of home education.
