Third quarter went by so fast this year! Tomorrow is our last class before a two week spring break. When we return on Tuesday, March 31, we will continue our novel study of The Chocolate Touch. The younger students are doing a great job of growing their sight word recognition and sounding out words they don't know. They will soon be ready to participate in their own book studies! While the older kids have been working on their writing notebooks and preparing to write paragraphs and essays, the other group is practicing their handwriting and copy work. Both groups are doing so well in language arts and we are very proud of them.
In math we have been working on angles and using protractors. The students played a fun game today where they raced to see which team could measure a set of angles the fastest. It was nearly a tie! The younger students have been working on solidifying their addition and subtraction so they have a solid foundation on which to grow their skills.
We spent the past two weeks studying bird adaptations, specifically their feet and beaks, and how the different styles help various species thrive in their environments. We will continue our study of birds as we return to nature walks during fourth quarter.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy spring break and we will see you in two weeks!
